Software Engineer/Developer - ESB, IBM Integration Bus, IBM Message Broker, Java, SOA, XML is required by my client who is based in London.

Candidates ideally will have current SC Clearance or be eligible to go through it.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Strong development experience associated with an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) In-depth knowledge of standards/technologies that enable messaging, including XML, WSDL, SOAP, JMS, HTTP and SSL
- Knowledge of integration patterns and the role of an ESB in integration
- History of participating in an Agile Scrum methodology
- Understanding of REST principles and implementation
- Understanding of model-driven development techniques
- The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a small team of engineers within a project environment, to deliver the systems engineering/analysis project requirements.
- Experience in Systems Engineering principles and practice with knowledge of SYSML, UML, ITIL or TOGAF is desirable but not essential.

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Ideally the candidate should have some experience of programming the IBM Integration Bus (IIB), or its predecessor, IBM Message Broker.
- Message Oriented Middleware development skills on other platforms would also be acceptable (eg Software AG ESB)
- Experience with other products in the IBM BPM and SOA product stack including WebSphere Application Server, Process Server and Operational Decision Manager etc. is definitely a huge plus.
- Understanding of commercial software product development processes. eg Requirements management, program & portfolio management, defect management, test management, source code management, and release management

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Software Engineer/Developer is required to join my clients project team that is responsible for the replacement and integration of the new Command & Control system, based in London, UK. My client is providing the installation, development and integration of support to a major development programme in the field of Systems Integration and Support. As part of the project, they will provide a SOA environment to integrate many existing client Legacy systems to the new C&C solution.

This role requires the candidates to have a broad Systems Engineering and Software Development background with experience in a range of different areas with the ability to think strategically across a broad range of systems topics.

The candidate will provide:

- Subject matter expertise around the Enterprise Service Bus utilizing the IBM Integration Bus
- Short-term and long-term integration of ESB integration approaches in line with the program's Enterprise Architecture.
- Will ensure service implementation and promote reuse through creation of reusable Middleware assets.

Knowledge of Object Oriented programming techniques is essential, preferably experience in programming at an Enterprise Service Bus level. Java programming is a good base for ESB development.  He/she must be able to think laterally generating novel and innovative solutions to complex problems. The candidates will ideally have an interest in technology keeping themselves abreast of new developments. Reporting to the development lead, the candidate will be part of the team that delivers nominated work-streams.
