Software Engineer - Build & Configuration, Networking, Unix - Contract

SOFTWARE ENGINEER - BUILD & CONFIGURATION, NETWORKING, UNIX - CONTRACT, LONDON

We're looking for an software engineer (Java, C or other) with strong experience building, configuring and performance tuning Unix systems. The successful engineer with have excellent coding ability in Java, C or other programming languages, as well as excellent experience with Scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

Experience writing HTTPd custom modules and Internet caching (such as Varnish) would be beneficial, as well as a strong understanding of the Internet stack and networking protocols such as BGP, TCP/IP, DNS.

KEY SKILLS:

- Software Development (Java, C or other)
- Scripting (Python, Bash or other)
- Unix systems - build, configuration and performance tuning
- HTTP
- Caching technologies (Varnish ideally)
- Networking protocols (BGP, TCP/IP, DNS etc.)
