Software Engineer 4

Yoh has a 12 month opportunity for a SOFTWARE ENGINEER 4 to join our client in Scottsdale, AZ.

Job Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze product specifications, system level requirements, user stories, and use cases.
- Coordinate with developers, product owners, scrum masters, testers, systems engineering and product management to gain further understanding of the product and/or requirements.
- Develop design specifications that align with specifications.
- Modify and create special purpose software and ensure system efficiency and integrity.
- Translate detailed design into executable software.
- Create unit tests to ensure software aligns with specifications.
- Debug and refine software based on tester inputs.
- Develop and maintain applications software, database packages, compilers, assemblers, and utility programs with limited oversight.
- Participate in developer code reviews of peer or junior developer's code.
- Prepare required documentation, including project plans and software program documentation.
- Support estimation and scoping of code activities.
- Provides technical direction to less experienced programmers.
- Participate in Scrum-based meetings, including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, planning sessions, backlog grooming and sizing sessions.
- Update User Stories, including completed tasks, timelines, and validate completion criteria with the product owner(s).
- Document defects/issues found throughout the development cycle into the Defect tracking system. Provide updates as needed.
- Conduct analysis, development and maintenance of software interfaces in an independent manner.
- Other duties as required by business conditions or as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ten (10) or more years of information technology experience.
- Five (5) or more years of experience or knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: JAVA/J2EE.
- Ability to understand and explain complex information simply and accurately.
- Three (3) or more years of VA and/or Healthcare IT experience.
- Three (3) or more years of experience with Agile/SCRUM and waterfall life cycle management.

Preferred Job Skills/Certifications/Knowledge:

- Experience operating in CMMI Level 3 programs.
- Knowledge of ONC NwHIN standards.
- Healthcare billing, accounts receivable, outpatient pharmacy and claims processing application knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Healthcare domain knowledge like HL7, IHE, CCOW experience is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with Target Process, Eclipse, GWT/GXT, Maven, SoapUI, SOA, OSGI, and ServiceMix or other ESB is a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
