Software Engineer

For our client, an international Bank based in Zurich, we are looking for:

SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Location: Opfikon

Duration: 6 months

Job Description:

The Group Data organisation is a critical enabler to the various business and logistics functions across the Bank, providing a central source of reference data (including Client, Account, SSI, Instrument, Issuer, Pricing, Calendars and Regulatory Data) to those functions. Group Data combines the previously separate Data Service Group and Data IT groups, into a joint team with the capabilities to provide market leading Service Delivery and Solution Delivery capabilities for Reference Data across the Bank.

Within Group Data, the Solution Delivery team is responsible for setting the Data strategy and delivering the reference data related organisational, process and technology change across the Bank globally, working closely with management, the business and other areas.

Technical Skills Required - with example technologies:

Wide ranging experience in varied architectures, environments and integration
Deep full-life cycle experience of project/product life cycle with experience on technical and infrastructure requirements gathering

Development management and control experience:
o Application/Library ownership
o SCM tools - Git
o Tracking tools - JIRA
o Quality tools - coverage

In-depth experience of development with:
o Oracle or similar enterprise DB
o Java - J2SE, JEE
o Build systems - Maven
o Middleware technologies - MQ/TIBCO
o Scripting languages/Unix architectures

Solution space experience:
o Multi-threading/Solutions at scale
o Web/Gui technologies - eg Vaadin/Angular JS/JSF/Play
o ORMs/JDBC
o Integration tools/Libraries

Soft Skills:

Team Leadership (technical or otherwise)
Communication with stakeholders/clients
Understanding of project/risk management techniques and processes (experience of working in Scrum a plus)
Ability to explain deeply technical concepts in a simple fashion
A focus on quality with a clear understanding of pragmatic delivery (including realistic deliverables)
