Software Engineer

I am looking for a Control Systems Software Engineer for a 12 month contract in Bristol. Particular skills with Allen Bradley PLC and Wonderware. If you know what this is, keep on reading!

Essential Responsibilities:

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for conception, design, approval, validation and verification software activities on Oil & Gas equipment. Typically, this will include IWOCS equipment: Workover Control Modules (WOCM), Surface Controls Units (SCU), Umbilical & Reels and Hydraulic Power Units (HPU) and software aspects.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare software design requirements from customer and industry specifications and ensure implementation in product designs.
Ensure equipment is designed in accordance with the current Heath, Safety and Environmental legislation.
Manage software interface across project deliverables including 3rd party equipment suppliers.

Key deliverables:

Create project design requirements established from customer & industry specifications for software discipline.
Communication of software design specifications for interpretation by other engineers & suppliers on projects.
Create/review software coding including PLC logic, HMI logic, software applications and safety integrity levels.
Create/review Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Integration, Field Service manual procedures for software integration and testing across systems.
Create/review software design verification documentation, which may include but not limited to: risk analysis, failure analysis, design reviews, calculations to establish a full Design Verification Package (DVP). Ensure DVP has 3rd party or independent review.
Contribute in FMECAs, HAZOPs and TRAP sessions to establish actions.
Software engineering support during various test phases.
