Software Engineer

On behalf of our client in the Life Science industry, Harvey Nash is looking for a Software Engineer for a 2 + month project in Switzerland.
The role is about specifying, designing, developing and implementing low-level software for systems based on instrumentation and control technology or robotics. Creating complex algorithms, eg for parallel or distributed processes in time-critical systems.
You are responsible for
- Assessing new or modified requirements with respect to technical feasibility and complexity and the impact on current and planned systems, standards and guidelines (requirements engineering)
- Assessing the complexity and the impact on a current/planned system
- Exploring solution alternatives and verify their feasibility
- Defining required technical resources, software architecture, user interface and database system.
- Creating or selecting the most suitable methods, techniques, standards, guidelines and tools for software development.
- Creating models for data, functions and/or objects
- Implementing software
- Assessing software solutions from the perspectives of security risk, implementing and executing the required procedures for risk analysis in software systems.
- Defining and agreeing service levels for application maintenance
- Analysis of problems, providing third level support, definition and implementation of the escalation procedures.
- Defining versions of products, software and releases
- Developing validation documentation for a solution in accordance to the internal methodology
- Ability to translate a conceptual design into to hard solution that meets the technical and business objectives
- Collaborating with developers, tester and subject matter experts to establish the technical solution
- Interfacing and coordinating tasks with internal and external technical resources.
- Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts
Requirements
- Minimum of six years of commercial validation experience in a GxP environment in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 7+ years' experience working as a business analyst, (technical) project manager, solution architect or similar, within the Drug Development Informatics domain.
- Familiar in working with global enterprise systems supported by global virtual teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience working in a cross-functional, multi-cultural global virtual environment
- Fluent spoken and written English
