Software Engineer

Job Description

An experienced software engineer is required to join a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the specification, design and integration of Development and Production Test Equipment for radar SRIs and LRIs.

The task involves developing test software to support the development, integration and diagnostics of the SRIs and sub-SRIs within the Radar Receiver. The software will then be developed further to form part of the Production Test Equipment. The software will be developed in LabWindows/CVI and will integrate with an in-house developed test executive.

The software engineer will be expected to participate in the following:
a) Customer requirements capture and analysis of software requirements
b) Production of requirements and design documentation
c) Interfacing with Firmware and Hardware Design engineers
d) Integration and commissioning of the software and systems.
e) Acceptance testing and installation

Skills, qualifications & knowledge

Essential Skills
Competent C programmer
Experience of Test Equipment software development
Experience of hardware/software integration
Experience of full life cycle software development

Desirable Skills
Hands on experience of NI Labwindows CVI
Experience of driving RF instrumentation
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
Familiarity with hardware and firmware interfacing

Self motivated
