Software Engineer

Immediate need for a seasoned Software Engineer southeast of Boston Massachusetts! Our client is seeking a professional design, develop and validate new implantable as well as non-implantable medical devices. This is a 6 month contract with a high potential to go perm. Requires a motivated individual that is able to work with minimal supervision. Come and join a well established medical service company in a great area!

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, code and implement software for implantable and external medical devices
- Participate in the software requirements specification and risk assessment for various implantable and external medical devices
- Generate software design history documentation
- Help the company evaluate and acquire appropriate software development tools
- Design and execute software testing as necessary to verify the design and performance of the device software
- Participate in software validation activities including code reviews and validation test documentation development

REQUIREMENTS

- B.S. Degree in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent / M.S. degree preferred BSEE considered as well
- 4-8 years overall software development experience, with at least two years developing code for embedded microcontrollers in C, C++ and C#
- Experience in the medical device industry is preferred, including an understanding of IEC 62304 and IEC 60601, IEEE software development standards and FDA software guidances
- Experience with motor communication protocols and graphic user interfaces preferred
- A working understanding of FDA QRS and ISO 13485 principles is preferred
