MUST HAVE SKILLS: 8+ years of TAL and SQL experience. Must also have 5+ years of C programming experience, along with 3+ years of OSS Personality and Unix experience.

NICE TO HAVE: Familiarity with card processing business. Experience with Guardian and SQL MX a plus.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primarily designing and developing programs, mostly making changes and improvements to existing programs.

Position reports to the Director of Risk Applications Development and requires software development in both HP Nonstop and HP OSS environments. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for developing multi-platform applications using TAL, Java and SQL/MX.

JOB SCOPE:

- Design and develop HP Nonstop software solutions based on business requirements provided by the Product Management group. Perform reviews of both functional and technical designs for viability as needed.
- Translate business requirements into a functional design, subsequent detailed technical design, as well as, coding, testing and debugging.
- Develop detailed plans and estimates for assigned projects involving others areas as needed.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance, Change Management, Support and Database groups as necessary to complete the project delivery and ensure on time, on budget and high quality deliverables.
- Cultivate, support and promote an organizational culture that provides for high performance, high morale, integrity and teamwork.
- Function as technical lead for projects performing design and code reviews and helping management to create staffing and task plans.
- Analyze application for areas of improvement and develop plans to implement the resolution as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline
- Minimum 8 years experience in all phases of software development life cycle
- Minimum 5 years experience with design/development on HP Nonstop platform
- Native C, TAL, TACL, Pathway, DDL, and Inspect experience required
- Exposure to Java, XML, SOAP, and SQL processing a plus
- Experience with credit and debit networks processing requirements and rules a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into design specifications
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Relational database knowledge a plus
- Experience with Tandem SQL/MP and/or SQL/MX a plus
- Experience with SQL/MP, SQL/MX query performance oriented design and tuning a plus
- Working knowledge of the OSS environment (or Linux/Unix) a plus
- Experience with card processing and financial processing companies preferred
