Software Development Engineer - Embedded

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - EMBEDDED to join our client in Tacoma, WA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER will be a productive contributor on a team working on Embedded Linux firmware stack.
- SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER will be responsible for Firmware Modules.
- SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER will design, develop, and sustain appliances using innovative technologies that include system virtualization and I/O virtualization/consolidation, specifically designed for data center needs.
- SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER will assist in design of validation processes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- BS in EE, CS or related subject matter and minimum five (5+) years of experience in Software Engineering role.
- Expert C/C++ coding, Embedded SW skills, and Assembly programming language.
- Solid programming skills on Embedded Linux firmware development.
- In-depth knowledge of System Basic Input Output System (BIOS).
- Working knowledge of the software engineering development process, project life cycle, SCRUM, and Agile.
- Experience developing Embedded Linux firmware using community tools.
- Ability to debug complex Real Time Embedded software and hardware using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, debuggers and Spectrum Analyzers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge and experience of Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) and/or Framework and/or Tiano* BIOS would be a great advantage.
- Understanding of computer/telecom networking, IPMI, SATA, SCSI, SAN is an advantage.
- Familiar with one or more networking protocols, like HTTP, TCP/UDP, SNMP, WSMAN, etc.
- Familiar with various communication protocols like KCS, I2C, SPI, PECI, PMBus, etc.
- Hardware knowledge on server platform, PDU and UPS, etc. is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the software engineering development process, project life cycle, SCRUM, and Agile.
