Software Development Engineer

This contract opportunity is for an end-to-end Developer to work for one of the world's leading finance services. We're looking for candidates with very extensive Java and J2EE skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design and development of new features and enhancing existing features for automation of virtual infrastructure management
- Designing and developing scalable, distributed, multi-threaded applications using J2EE and open source frameworks
- Ensuring that infrastructure services are adequately tested and integrated with other Infrastructure and Application Services
- Ensuring that availability and reliability of infrastructure services
- Building and managing development, test, integration, performance and stage environments

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- 5-7 years of hands-on development experience in Java/J2EE
- Expertise in REST and SOAP based web services, Spring, Hibernate, JSON, XML, JQuery and Object Oriented methodologies
- Good knowledge of SQL and DB concepts (SQL Server preferred) and experience writing SQL queries
- Strong ASP.NET abilities
- Experience writing unit and integration test cases
- Good knowledge of virtualization, cloud concepts (IaaS/PaaS)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (specifically scrum)
- Experience in mapping Cloud IaaS capabilities to system, network, storage technologies
- Experience in using vSphere Java SDK/API's for automating virtual infrastructure management
- Knowledge of Python frameworks like Django or Flask a big plus
- Knowledge of ServiceMesh's Agility REST API (optional but a big plus)
- Java Hibernate experience preferred
- Experience working on cloud applications preferred

Duration of assignment is 12 months with possibility of conversion to full time.
