Software Development Engineer

Our client is the world's largest software maker seeking a qualified SDE to design and implement features for their very high-visibility search engine and also resolve new and existing bugs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work closely with PM and test to design and implement components and consumer-facing features of search.
- Own responsibility for all aspects of product feature development, including architecture, design, development and unit testing.
- Must be ready to collaborate with partners teams in a fast-paced development environment and adapt to changing requirements, shorter release cycles, and parallel development responsibilities if required.
- Drive the detailed technical design of features and feature areas, working closely with peer developers to generate the right design quickly.
- Implement features with rock-solid, performant, and secure code.
- Think creatively about how to solve complex technical challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years software product cycle experience and proven core technical knowledge
- Experience in building great end-user web applications
- Experience with C#/C++/Java
- Deep real-world experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and up-and-coming web technologies
- Extensive knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: data mining, web mining, statistical analysis, information retrieval
- Data analysis/processing experience with various data analysis tools, data mining tools, and statistical packages
- Experience with development in large, high-volume services required
- Ability to ramp up on and work in unfamiliar code with speed and ease
- Dedication to quality a must
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of globalization a plus
- Experience developing features on Search infrastructure preferred
- Bachelors/Graduate degree in Computer Science
