Software Developer - Virtualization

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provides support for virtual streaming prototyping under new data initiative.
- Leads, designs, engineers, builds, tests, deploys, and upgrades platform, OS, and VM infrastructure.
- Evaluates, tests, implements, maintains, and supports virtualization platforms.
- Develops automated deployment, configuration, and support mechanisms.
- Uses advanced skills, knowledge, and experience to perform design, installation, configuration, administration, management, tuning, and advanced troubleshooting of the VM environments and provisioning infrastructure.
- Provides consulting and information sharing across work groups, with the ability to understand and assimilate complex cross-discipline and cross-technology concepts and processes.
- Interacts and communicates clearly with many interworking groups and represents the virtualization components of the larger project.
- Design, development, testing and debugging of software.
- Writes code and completes programming and documentation using programming language and technology.
- Performs testing and debugging of applications.
- Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs.
- Reviews/approves proposed tech system designs in collaboration with team.

SKILLS

Must have a high school diploma with 3 - 5 years of software development experience. Experience with Java, C, C++, Visual Basic, Windows development, UI Design, Xcode Application development, Object Oriented Programming, user interface design and development using WPF and.NET and experience with Windows Installer and InstallShield required. Experience with IP Networking is desirable. Expertise in Hypervisor, OS-based virtualization, and Scripting REQUIRED.
The following skills are desired: Hypervisor implementations such as VMware products (vSphere ESX/ESXi, vCenter, SRM), Citrix XenServer, Xen.org Xen, KVM (Linux, Illumos), etc.; OS based virtualization (Linux-VServer, Solaris zones, OpenVZ, LXC, FreeBSD jails); Cloud platforms, both IaaS and PaaS models (XCP, OpenStack, Amazon EC2, Apache Hadoop, Cloud Foundry, etc.) Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, OS filesystems eg zfs)

Linux (RHEL, CentOS, etc.), Solaris operating systems; IP Networking and routing; Solid Scripting development (Shell, Perl, Python)Hypervisor, OS based virtualization, Scripting.
KVM virtualization experience is a major plus.
