Software Dev Engineer in Test

Our hugely popular client is a dynamic and rapidly growing cloud computing business that provides developers and their organizations with building blocks to innovate faster and to operate their software more cost-effectively. These services-in-the-cloud include on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, querying of structured data, message queuing, and more.

Currently this development team is working on 3 different, green field projects including customer facing applications. The space lends itself to be cutting edge and intellectually stimulating as we are tackling new boundaries in the cloud computing space. Some of the challenges facing the team are in big data, social apps, machine learning and data mining. We are filing for multiple patents in this area and have room for lot more to be filed. You will be surrounded by people that are wickedly smart and passionate about cloud computing.

We're looking for a Software Test Engineer with a deep understanding of latest test methodologies and techniques. The ideal candidate has great communication skills, can remove roadblocks, detail oriented, and has a knack for breaking websites. Software Test Engineers improve the quality of software systems by developing tests at the Unit, Integration, and System level.

OVERVIEW

- Work with Developers, Product Managers and other SDETs to ensure the proper operation of the production environment.
- Identify use cases, create test cases, execute tests.
- Develop test automation solutions.
- Improve testability and troubleshooting problems in association with the development team.

REQUIREMENTS

- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Experience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle

PREFERRED

- 3+ years professional experience in software development
- 3 years' experience with web based technologies, such as HTTP, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, Apache, Tomcat
- Experience with Selenium test framework
- Experience with web services technologies
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and documenting test plans
