Software Dev Engineer II

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER SEATTLE, WA 6 MONTH CONTRACT

For this contract position, you will assist in launching marketplaces in new regions from the ground up and making products work for the customers in the new region. We are looking for Senior Developers with C++and Java experience to build and operate the next generation Platform solution.

The ideal candidate is a passionate, experienced Software Developer who can work on delivering high quality platform solutions that support a variety of customer use cases.

- You are a sharp, experienced Software Engineer with strong problem-solving skills, a solid software testing foundation.
- You are a talented, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Tester who is passionate about quality and is enthusiastic about cutting-edge technology offered to consumers.
- You can design, plan, execute and automate tests for software across a variety of n-tier architectures and cutting-edge technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 8+ years experience building successful production software systems
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs
- Experience developing service oriented architectures and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C/C++, C#, Java, Perl and open-source technologies (Linux, SQLite, OpenGL, Spring, Hibernate)
- Strong technical communication skills with peers and non-technical cohorts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience developing services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
- Knowledge of system performance methodologies along with hands on empirical monitoring
- Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality
- Strengths in coding, data structures, algorithms, Object Oriented Design and designing for performance, scalability, availability, and Internet and OS security fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
- Expertise in delivering high-quality, innovative applications
- Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Excellent written communication and verbal agility are strong assets
