Software Designer - Digital Signal Processing

Our client is the leading computer components brand seeking a Software Designer for a premium opportunity. This role will focus on developing unique applications and working on detailed proof-of-concepts showcasing the possibilities for machine learning technology in wearable sensor devices. Work will involve creating, testing, and refinement of Digital Signal Processing algorithms to merge various human sensor data streams with other relevant data to yield meaningful new insights. Candidate will join the technical project team to devise features for machine learning algorithms running on wearable devices and general insights to a set of scalable platform requirements and tools to be developed.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

- C# Desktop Application WinForms, XML, USB, SErial, firmware
- Work closely with Technical customers to establish requirements and schedules
- Coordinated efforts with other developers, planned high level architecture for solutions, coded software to spec, tracks and resolves software defects
- Develop insight on features relevant to a variety of physiological sensor applications
- Develop computationally efficient Digital Signal Processing algorithms to extract features from sensor data
- Develop algorithms to automate feature generation
- Prototype DSP algorithms for resource constrained platforms and Real Time systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Matlab and other data processing and visualization tools
- Proficiency in intermediate-level statistics
- Experience with Digital Signal Processing techniques on time sequences
- Master's degree or a Ph. D in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent education
- Min of 5 years post-graduation experience
- Proficiency in C and/or Python
- Excellent communication and documentation skills

PREFERRED:

- Experience in processing data sequences from physiological and inertial sensors
- Understanding of basic data structures and algorithms used in machine learning
- Proficiency in: Python and Core Libraries: Pandas, Scikit-Learn, MatplotLib, IPython Notebook, etc.
