Software Design Engineer in Test

SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER IN TEST (SDET) BELLEVUE, WA 8 MONTH CONTRACT

Our hugely popular client is looking for a high level QA Test Engineer with the ability to write automated test scripts, code in C# and understand complex .NET projects. Web Services and multi-tiered applications experience is also required. The successful candidate will have strong test plan and test case creation skills as well as strong communication skills and passion for problem solving.

Roles and responsibilities:
The SDET will be part of a Scrum team with a 1:1 Dev:QA makeup. S/He will be involved in both coding and testing. Responsible for all aspects of testing including functional, usability, performance, and security. Responsible for solving complex testing challenges with an emphasis on automation and quality processes. you'll apply your keen QA perspective to both Legacy production code and cutting edge solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Partner with the Scrum team to plan, write, execute and refactor manual and automated test cases to provide story coverage.
- Pair program on test and production code.
- Implement test code within a best-fit automation framework.
- Participate in root cause analysis and track defect resolution to completion.
- Review and provide feedback on test designs and test cases.
- Communicate status frequently and participate in cross-group and internal customer feature demos.
- Document process, designs, test results, and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

- BS in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, IS, or other related field
- 5+ years equivalent combination of experience and/or training as a software QA Engineer
- Demonstrated knowledge of the software development life cycle, especially in the analysis of software design and code development and its application to testing
- Ability to write automated test scripts, code in C# and understand complex .NET projects, ASP, ASP.NET 1.1 to 3.5
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and RDBMS concepts
- Good knowledge on C++
- Experience on Web Services (ASMX at minimum, WCF experience a strong plus) and also XML, XPATH and XSL
- Experience using Visual Studio Test Edition
- Knowledge and/or experience testing financial or E-commerce web applications
- Passion for or testing with Agile methodologies a plus
- Knowledge/experience on Java, J2EE, Ant, Maven a plus
- Team-oriented but self-reliant
- eCommerce background preferred but not required
