Software Database Engineer (ETL)

SOFTWARE DATABASE ENGINEER - MICROSOFT INTEGRATION SERVICES DEVELOPER

This position will work closely with Application Development teams supporting on-going development projects. Other responsibilities will include assisting the team to ensure the BI/ETL business processes are streamlined.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Participate in requirements and design specification reviews
- Design the BI/ETL processes, including data quality and testing
- Provide weekly status reports and test results
- Adherence to technology standards for the department
- Other assignments as directed by the team leader

REQUIREMENTS:

- 5+ years of professional experience working with multi-tiered financial transaction systems
- 5+ years of professional experience as an ETL or BI Developer
- 5+ years of professional experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
- Significant skill in source data discovery along with data anomaly identification/resolution.
- Strong ETL and data modelling experience.
- Solid understanding of the software development and software quality life cycles in an Agile environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Create and deliver technical and project documentation as required throughout the project life cycle
- Ensure that delivered software runs efficiently and accurately
- Experience OLAP cube and MDX query development
- Exposure to SQL Server 2008
- Excellent judgment skills to assess the high risk areas.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to demonstrate competence and self-motivation in analysing problems and performing root cause analysis
- Positive personal experience working closely and amicably with the business owners and the application development team to achieve the mutual goal of high-quality products and services.
