Software Continuation Engineer

Work with enterprise customers using award winning, bleeding edge scale-out NAS (multi-petabyte storage arrays with massive throughput and processing capabilities!) in a diverse range of applications like animation/movie production, design verification, gene sequencing, high performance computing, and quantitative finance. You'll be working with a team of smart, passionate, and driven people in a high paced and constantly changing environment.

OVERVIEW

- Work closely with Customer Support Escalation to assist in handling customer issues
- Contribute to and drive improvement of the Storage products (hardware and software)
- Work with other Engineering teams to fix critical defects in the core products
- Create patches, private builds and hot fixes to meet customer needs
- Drive technical knowledge and expertise to Customer Support
- Provide feedback to Development of key technical shortcomings in the products
- Create tools to search logs to help diagnose defects in hardware and software

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree (or higher), preferably in software engineering/computer science or electrical engineering
- 2+ years' experience of professional software development in C or C++ preferred
- Scripting language (Python, Perl etc.)
- Experience with storage system design and Network Attached Storage
- Experience with Linux platforms required (eg comfortable with Shell Scripting, compiling drivers)
- Software and Hardware lab experience
- Very strong debugging skills
- Knowledge of Infiniband, SCSI and Ethernet protocols a plus
- Strong inter-team and intra-team communication skills including the ability to prioritize bug fixing efforts and facilitate the resolution of difficult cross-team issues
- Must be comfortable in face-to-face meetings and over the telephone with both technical and non-technical personnel
- Team player, detail-oriented, and able to handle difficult customer problems
