Software Configuration Manager Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION MANAGER to join our client in Plano, Texas

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Development, maintenance and overall configuration management of the product software baselines, documentation, and development environment
- Management of the software project repositories
- Create and establish appropriate project(s) software configuration environment.
- Communication with all stakeholders (including but not be limited to sharing project status, issues, risks, and change management activities).
- Ensure compliance with higher order data and configuration management directives
- Assist in the development of the Configuration Management procedures, maintaining Change
- Request records and maintaining the Configuration Management Plan.
- Establish and maintain a CM system to document software applications levels.
- Control, distribute, and maintain software levels within a System Verification Lab environment

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- High degree of technical oriented knowledge with significant practical experience: Software configuration management experience on a medium to large team (5+ developers) through two or more full development cycles
- Experience using and administering at least one source control tool eg Clear Case, CVS, and Subversion.
- Experience using and administering at least one change management tool eg MARS, Clearquest, ReqPro
- Experience with automated build tools eg Automated Build studio, MSBuild, VisualBuild. Batch files or scripts (MS Batch files or UNIX Shell Scripts) to increase automation and consistency
- Understand the concepts of labeling, branching, merging, and promotion models with respect to the capabilities (or limitations) of a configuration management tool
- Experience with a structured systems/software developmental life cycle (SDLC)
- Ability to interact effectively with highly technical personnel, translate and communicate highly technical concepts, plans and procedures to both technical personnel and non-IT business users.
- Candidate must have excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience with test Client Server environment and web applications tools
- Experience with automated functional GUI testing tools
- Some Project Management Skills a plus
- Strong Configuration Management Knowledge Rational tool (ReqPro, ClearCase, ClearQuest) experience
- Project Management Skills or Quality Assurance experience a plus
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
