A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Software Configuration Manager to work within a large blue chip organisation, specialising in the Banking industry. This exciting Software Configuration Manager opportunity is open to a Software Configuration Manager that can successfully demonstrate experience in the systematic management of documentation and software of large projects in terms of their identification as configuration items.

Responsibilities:

* Act as a point of contact for other project teams on SCM issues and keep them informed of the current status of the project as necessary. This will include highlighting and resolving any issues between the 2 or more projects.
* Act as a point of contact for the project team on SCM issues communicating relevant information to team members and management as appropriate.
* Co-ordinate the separation or merging of configuration items for projects if required by the Project Manager.
* Create and run build/install scripts as necessary for mid-tier projects.
* Define and inform development team of a freeze date that marks the end of the development phase and allows the production implementation date to be met. Monitor and control any changes after this freeze date.

Experience required:

* Familiar with the concepts and principles of configuration management.
* Knowledge of Project Lifecycle. (waterfall and Agile)
* Knowledge of software platforms and testing environments, including:
* Unix
* NT
* AIX

Knowledge of Configuration management tools and utility jobs which are used to identify, control and report on configuration items, including:

* PVCS - Version manager
* ClearCase - Windows and Unix
