The software asset manager is responsible for ensuring the organisation is compliant with the manufacturer's requirements for the licencing of the products that the organisation holds. The manager is responsible for ensuring that the licence holding is commensurate with the company consumption and that we are not holding an excess of licences.

The manager will ensure that they understand the licencing frameworks for the licences held and ensure that the company are getting the best value from the products used.

*Responsible for the end to end life cycle of Software Assets to ensure compliance across the estate and to meet operational KPIs & SLAs.

*Plan, design, define, implement and manage Software Licensing policies and procedures in conjunction with stakeholders to ensure current and planned requirements are met.

*Ensure the end-to-end software asset control points are defined to ensure compliance with commercial and legal software licencing terms.

*Identify, manage and escalate any risks in the use of software which may cause the company to be non-compliant.

*Conduct software audits of the estate to manage compliancy.

*Ensure all new license requests are authorised and current stock levels are checked to ensure optimal use of licenses at all times.

*Ensure that the company is using the most advantageous licencing agreement with each product supplier

*Production of a business plan to articulate the yearly tactical and strategic goals for software asset

*Review and make recommendations for improvements to the configuration and software management tooling.

Key required experience:

*Thorough knowledge of Software asset management process
*Thorough knowledge Software Libraries and CMDB principles
* Previous experience in a similar role in a large organisation
*Awareness of how to work in a complex Matrix environment
*Strong communication and stakeholder management
*Ability to maintain processes
