Software Application Developer - LIMS, Scientific, Lab, Python, JavaScript, Linux, Shell, DB -50%vol

Specific Job Duties:

Work as a key member of the LIMS development and support team

Work with lab users to define LIMS & workflow requirements

Design and implement LIMS/workflow execution support from sample accession

Modify and update LIMS & workflows based on protocol improvements or new requirements

Work with analysis team to build Metadata repository and Search Tool and integrate with LIMS

Follow agile practices for software version control, testing and release engineering

Provide status updates in regular team meetings 

Essential Skills:

B.S. in Computer Science or a related scientific or technical field (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of three years of software application development experience in a scientific environment

Experience working closely with end users and providing assistance to debug problems in production environments

Demonstrated experience with Python, JavaScript and Java

Demonstrated experience with Linux (Shell Scripting)

Demonstrated experience with database programming (SQL, PL/SQL), modelling and interfaces, preferably in Postgres and Oracle

Used SVN, GIT or similar version control systems

Demonstrated experience with software life cycle tools, continuous integration, source control, test coverage, code review etc.

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of and experience with laboratory informatics. (Commercial LIMS experience a plus)

XML, JSON

ESB, REST

Experience with scientific computational packages a plus

Experience working with scientific users.

Experience developing web-based GUI.

Experience working in a regulated environment, CLIA. GLP & 21 CFR Part

Demonstrated experience in providing support for production software systems.
