The Overstaying Families Intervention Team is based within the Access, Assessment and Family Support Service of Children's Social Care. The team consists of a Consultant Social Worker (who leads the unit), three Social Workers, a No Recourse to Public Funds Support Worker, a Senior Fraud Investigator and a Team Administrator. The team assesses all overstaying families who have presented to the Local Authority as homeless and where support is required under s.17 of the Children Act 1989 provides this.
