Child Protection Social Worker immediate start !!
Role: Social Work Child Protection
Location: Sligo

We are recruiting for a Social Worker in Sligo. The position of Child Protection Social worker has become vacant with the HSE in Sligo. This role will be offered on a full time basis on a 3 month contract initially with an immediate start.
This is a key role within their overall interdisciplinary team.
The candidate must have experience in: and duties will include:
Assess and prioritise incoming referrals, from members of the public or other professionals or services: formulate an appropriate response and take action to resolve or refer as appropriate.
Undertake emergency and other assessments of needs, risks and options for adults/ children and young people with the most complex/high risk care needs and/or circumstances, in accordance with legislative requirements, all relevant policies and procedures and agreed performance targets.
Intervene in emergency situations to protect vulnerable adults/ children and young people and initiate the appropriate statutory or other actions required: undertake adult/child protection investigations, as requested.
Undertake case management responsibility for a case load of complex cases, including development of appropriate packages or programmes of care, working in partnership with individuals, their families, carers, and with other agencies; undertake ongoing and urgent case reviews, as necessary.
Act as a recognised expert within the specialist field and to other team members: mentor, provide advice and support, and as appropriate co-work, in relation to complex cases to other social workers or multi-disciplinary team members.
Maintain and update records in accordance with departmental policies; write reports, as required, including reports for courts and tribunals.

Reporting to Team Leader and Principal Social Worker, this is a fantastic opportunity to join the HSE as part of the Child Protection team, where your input and initiative will be rewarded.
This is a 3 month(initially) full time contract paid in line with HSE Social Work salary scales.
