FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 6 MONTHS

Southend Borough Council have an exciting 6 month fixed term contract opportunity as a dynamic Social Service Worker (level 7) who has the ability to support the hospital social work team according to the transforming social care agenda. The suitable candidate will be expected to cover the hospital team Monday- Friday, but with an expectation that working some weekends/Bank Holidays may be required

It is essential that you possess considerable knowledge of Intermediate Care, the Delayed Discharge Act and other key legislative drivers such as Mental Capacity; Continuing Health Care and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures. You will have proven ability in ensuring that adults and older people are appropriately safeguarded

You will have some hospital social work/assessment experience and be dedicated to ensuring value for money.
You will be committed to ensuring that service users are in control of their lives and will have ability to work under pressure and deliver quality outcomes. The post holder will be based in the Hospital, but will be expected to travel and be flexible to work in other areas in Southend if required. This post is subject to checks from Criminal Records Bureau and Regulated under the Independent Safeguarding Authority and successful applicants will need to be able to register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority.
