Social Media Coordinator Job

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SILVER SPRING, MD

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Curate relevant science, space, technology and engineering news to populate and grow social media sites
- Help create and maintain and editorial calendar for publishing to digital and social platforms
- Interact with production and marketing teams to acquire assets for digital rollout
- Work and/or publish on discrete projects as assigned, using various CMS
- Basic writing of short blogs and informational posts, as assigned
- Assist with post campaign analysis when needed

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelors degree in New Media, Journalism, Communication or related field
- 3+ year's experience in online/interactive media or equivalent
- Proficiency with WordPress and WordPress variations
- Proficiency in Mac or PC environment, using MS Office suite, online tracking/reporting tools (Google Analytics), and additional online content management and automated publishing systems
- Passion for the digital/social landscape, ability to own projects, attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the knowledge of when to ask questions or for help
- Collaborative work style, ability to listen to and participate with various teams on joint projects, desire to build strong working relationships
- Some experience with Adobe creative suite, including Photoshop
