SMTP Administrator (Messaging)

We require a SMTP Administrator with strong knowledge of SMTP, Postfix, Sendmail, Linux/Unix and related technical areas for a long term contract in Valencia, Spain starting in January 2014. Working within an international IT organisation's growing messaging/infrastructure team, you will be responsible for systems administration, monitoring and support of the SMTP relay infrastructure. This is an English-speaking role.

Responsibilities:

. Work as part of an existing/growing Messaging Unit
. Provide on-going support of the SMTP relay infrastructure
. Assist with the designing and implementation of policies and procedures
. Report to the Messaging Unit's Head
. Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on best practices and efficient solutions supporting the SMTP relay environment based on Postini, Proofpoint, Postfix, and Sendmail
. Input on the design and support the SMTP relay infrastructure configuration, administration and installation (when applicable)
. Perform messaging systems administration and maintenance
. Monitor messaging systems to facilitate proper performance and perform diagnostics as needed
. Create documentation and develop training plans for end users and other support teams for Messaging solutions
. Evaluate and recommend messaging system upgrades or enhancements
. Participate in the on call roster (for support outside of working hours)

Skills Required:

. Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
. Five years of technical experience working with messaging systems running on Linux/Unix
. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration, including Shell Scripting (Redhat preferred)
. Strong understanding of SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
. Strong knowledge of Postfix and Sendmail
. Experience working with messaging perimeter security systems on the cloud, Postini and Proofpoint
. Strong knowledge of Nagios and Nagvis
. Experience working with Ext JS and Database systems on Linux/Unix
. Ability to write reports, and procedure manuals
. Fluent English communication, written and verbal
