At EDF Energy we generate and sell electricity and gas to over 5.5 million residential and business customers, and are the largest supplier of electricity by volume. The SME Portfolio Analyst has a high degree of input into setting EDF Energy's SME Acquisition and Retention Strategy and is responsible for providing detailed analysis and modelling to support key business decisions.

About The Role

Based inWorthing and reporting to the SME Acquisition Planning Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the SME Strategy. The emphasis is on both analysing existing performance metrics and working with key stakeholders to ensure these metrics are measured effectively to provide the insight required to shape SME Strategy, developing new metrics and reporting mechanisms where required.

You will be required to maintain existing models and develop new models as well as reporting where necessary. You will need to be able to retrieve and analyse data from a variety of sources with the emphasis on asking insightful questions of the data you are working with. The emphasis is on analysis and scenario modelling rather than simply presenting numbers without meaningful commentary. A key area of focus will be building business cases to support strategic initiatives and creating presentations to support analysis for senior management.

About You

In order to rise to the challenge you'll have a numerate degree (or have equivalent commercial experience) coupled with a proven track record of strong commercial understanding and analytical ability. You will have advanced Microsoft Excel / Access skills with experience of working with large data sets; knowing the difference between a model and a report. You will also have excellent communication and negotiation skills as buy in from across the business is necessary for the strategy and actions to succeed. Statistical modelling techniques that enable building of robust financial and customer number models and Business Objects or similar Management Information software experience are both highly advantageous.
