Site Reliability Engineer Job

SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in South San Francisco, CA.

Candidate must be able to obtain government security clearance.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Unix system administration
- J2EE application experience
- Tomcat/JBoss, Apache, Linux

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Linux System Administration with experience in advanced Storage and Network troubleshooting.
- Performance Monitoring
- Expert knowledge in HTTP Headers, HTTPS load balancing, and web transactions.
- Monitoring and optimizing performance for various services (ie Apache, jboss, tomcat), OS resources(memory, cpu, disk io), and platforms (Load balancers, Xen, VMware, Monsoon, UCS, HP)
- Researching, developing, and implementing new tools and processes to improve and automate Operational Support
- Maintaining OS system security standards, host and client access, and automating required audits
- Acting in a technical leadership capacity to drive challenging projects across different organizational departments
- Create detailed technical documentation and provide Training to other entry and intermediate team members

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- B.S. Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
- Five to eight (5-8) years Unix system administration and J2EE application experience
- Experience with Tomcat/JBoss, Apache, Linux
- Relevant Industry Certifications a plus (RHCE, VCP, SCSA, CCNA, JNCIA-FWV)
- Experience with Oracle 10g-11g, MS SQL, MySQL, Hana a plus
- Experience with Shell Scripting and other programming languages
- Linux and Java Performance analysis and tuning
- Strong problem solving skills across the different Infrastructure layers
- Works effectively with a minimal amount of direction
- Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability to handle on call escalations
- US Citizenship required for security clearance
