SIMULATION ENGINEER FOSTER CITY, CA 5 MONTH CONTRACT

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This candidate will join a team of research scientists and data engineers developing highly specialized computer simulations to drive decision support solutions. Work will leverage cross disciplinary expertise including machine learning, game theory, economics, psychology, and advanced computing techniques. Engineer will work onsite in Foster City.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

- 3+ years experience developing computer simulations (eg physical systems, gaming, scientific research, etc.)
- Solid understanding of statistics, analytics, and data fusion methodologies on large scale data sets (structured and unstructured)
- Competent Scripting and programming skills (eg C/C++, Python) on open platforms (eg Linux)
- Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques and the implementation of advanced algorithms/computational models
- Experience with analytical and visualization tools (eg Matlab, R)
- Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional teams in a highly dynamic environment
- Quantitative background in engineering or science

NICE TO HAVE:

- Research experience in a scientific or highly quantitative field
- Experience with finance or electronic payment data
- Graduate degree preferred

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

- Linux, 3 years
- Scripting Language, 3 years
