SII (Solvency 2) Actuarial Consultant - £1150

ROLE

My Client is a a leading provider of financial products and services, running for over 100 years. They are currently seeking a Solvency II Actuary Specialist for a critical role within the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Take responsibility for allocated areas of basis and methodology
- Assist in the development of methodologies where required
- Ensure that all investigations, recommendations and associated documentation is produced in line with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and are to an audit standard.
- Liaise with team members and different teams (where necessary) to produce required analysis to support proposed changes to models
- Review output from model to ensure it is consistent with the specified methodology and basis
- Produce technical reports that adequately describe the issues, proposals and financial impacts, always mindful of the audience and the purpose of the report.
- Ensure that such reports are subject to effective internal peer review, discussing complex technical issues with others as appropriate.

When required:

- Attend internal model technical committee to present findings
- Assist Finance in implementation of changes in methodology in modelling
- Respond to queries from other areas on the basis and methodology
- Liaise with auditors and PRA

ESSENTIAL

- Fellow of Institute of Actuaries
- 3-5 years post qualification life insurance experience with good technical background
- Broad knowledge of ICA
- Solvency 2 knowledge including technical knowledge of methodologies on aggregation and/or market and non-market risk
- Management and completion of complex tasks to deadlines
