Signatures Engineer role available with leading defence client, based in Scotstoun. Opportunity for Systems Engineer professional experienced with various Signatures analysis and modelling including electromagnetic and Radar, to earn £36ph/Ltd on this 4 month unique project.

The Senior Engineer Signatures will be required to support the development of unique project through the engineering design phase under the guidance of the team leader.

Work will include development of signature requirements and acceptance, analytical modelling, signature prediction studies, and signature reduction techniques. This includes, RCS, IR and underwater EM signatures.

The role holder will require an understanding of the physical processes which determine Radar Cross Section, Infrared, Electromagnetic and Target Echo Strength signatures. The role holder will be required to carry out analyses in these areas, interpret the results and integrate appropriate features into the whole ship design.

Knowledge of signature reduction techniques applied to current generation surface ship programmes would be beneficial. The role holder will also participate in costing activities in these areas. The role holder will be required to have good report writing and presentational skills

Activities:

*To carry out signature modelling and prediction activities as required by the team leader.
*To liaise with design teams - naval architecture, structures, outfitting, combat systems, power and propulsion, and electrical - to ensure that signature requirements are supported and met as required by the team leader.
*To identify, assess and cost signature reduction techniques to achieve the signature requirement, as required by the team leader.
*To support requirement and operational analysis activities as required by the team leader.

Formal degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. eg a mechanical or Systems Engineering will be beneficial.
