JOB TITLE: Shipping Clerk

STATUS: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Shipping

REPORTS TO: Shipping Manager

HOURS: 9:00 - 5:30, possible overtime

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (subject to change)

- Packs and loads outgoing shipments.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against paperwork.
- May determine method of shipment, enters information into computer, may complete shipper paperwork.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Inserts items into containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping platform to storage or work area.
- Any and other necessary duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Attention to detail
- Superior packaging skills
- Accurate data entry skills
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Ability to maintain a neat and orderly work area

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of warehouse/shipping experience strongly desired
