Job Description
Selex ES in Edinburgh are looking for a SHE Manager to join the Supply Chain function to advise and implement Safety, Health and Environment requirements on the Edinburgh site. The role will involve developing and monitoring Company Safety, Health and Environment plans to drive continual improvement and the implementation of formal processes to ensure management compliance with all legislation, codes of practice, ISO & OHSAS Standards etc.

Identifying -
Minimum NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management
Environmental Management Qualification (NEBOSH/IEMA)
Chartered Member of Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH)
Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management -
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Tertiary Qualification in either Health & Safety/Environmental Management
Ionising Radiation Protection Supervisors Course
Professional Training Qualification

Experience:-
Should have extensive experience in a management position, preferably within a manufacturing business.

Key responsibility areas:
To be aware of current & impending legislation and to implement Environmental, Health & Safety requirements on the Edinburgh site.
Monitor the Company Environmental, HealthForum, Committee, Workshops etc.
Working with line management, TU safety reps, and safety committee to ensure a consistent approach to EHS, meeting objectives, maximising resources and embracing best practice.
Advise/manage and have input/working knowledge of Radioactive material control practices and liaise as the company representative with enforcement agencies ie SEPA/EA.
Review of contracted services and required legislated compliance by formal audits.
Work with functional management and learning and development to maintain and create site EHS training needs for compliance and continuous improvement to agreed budgets.
Management of EHS budget.
Ensuring the site is compliant with risks managed to maintain business performance circa 500 Million GBP per year.
Support and facilitate both site and corporate environmental initiatives & act as part of the group Green Company programme activity.
Identify, select, coordinate and implement energy/waste/water efficiency activity.

Intrinsic job factors
This is an office based role using display screen equipment working full time hours which can often be in a demanding environment. As part of this role you will be expected to travel possibly both in the UK and abroad, you may also be expected to stay overnight as part of this travel. Working to tight deadlines either on a regular or ad hoc basis will be required.
