Sharepoint Developer

6 month contract to work within Central Government as a SharePoint Developer, based in Taunton.

The UK Hydrographic Office utilises the Microsoft Office SharePoint product platform for both internal and external web based publishing, collaboration and information management tasks.

In order to support and further develop the use of SharePoint a SharePoint Developer is required to:

- Provide skills in the areas of workflow, site template design, page design and custom functionality within 2007, 2010 and 2013 environments.
- Support business content owners across internal and external sites
- Day to day incident management
- Liaise with Business Areas to ascertain development requirements
- Design and develop workflows to automate business process
- Design and develop site and page templates that conform to accessibility guidelines
- Design and develop reusable/configurable custom web parts
- Produce clear and detailed service documentation
- Provide written and verbal user instruction when required
- To provide SharePoint as a service to the business
- To develop and configure sites
- To provide site branding capability
- To provide user guidance
- To provide incident management issues
- To produce accurate documentation

- SharePoint 2007, 2010 & 2013 Server
- SQL Server 2005 & 2008 R2
- Microsoft SharePoint Object Model
- Microsoft .NET Framework
- Microsoft C#
- Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2010 & 2007
- CSS JQuery and JQuery
- SSAS, SSRS, SSIS

Desirable Skills:

- Microsoft PowerShell
- SharePoint Accessibility conformance (AA)

Ideally we want someone who has extensive knowledge of how to leverage the existing SharePoint web parts to provide business solutions, developing bespoke web parts in Visual Studio and customising the look and feel of SharePoint up to 2013 level.
