JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Senior SharePoint DBA will be required to gather existing DB and architecture information (SharePoint 2007).
Based on the determination of SharePoint 2010 user requirements, the SharePoint DBA will perform Back End DB design and capacity management requirements, and provide recommendations to SharePoint Administrators and Developers.
The DBA will manage content, archive old information and confirm current content to the flat architecture environment to simplify and streamline the site.
The position requires both broad and deep technology knowledge of SharePoint and the ability to quickly provide DB SharePoint solutions by mapping common client business problems to end-to-end technology solutions.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to engage in senior-level technology decision making discussions related to pilots, best client values and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and analyze business requirements and functional requirements, taking into account existing architecture.
Understand and translate user interface and business requirements into implementation plan.
Participate in design reviews to ensure the design will meet business requirements.
Ensure change management requirements are met.
Troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and implement optimal solutions.
Adhere to all company data standards and controls to ensure database integrity and perform data quality assurance activities.
Create, backup and restore the web parts in SharePoint.
Create and maintain detailed database documentation.
Convert current content into flat architecture
Track and optimize system performance, security and storage utilization and plan ahead for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support the environment. Including the preparation of the new SP 2010 deployment.
Plan for migration to future versions of any relevant products in the technology stack.
Provide updates/briefings verbal/written/etc) regarding current status of issues within assigned area of responsibility to include applicable documentation.
Prepare written activity status reports.
Filing and archiving of documentation as appropriate and in accordance with the retention policy
Archive old items; take existing items and populating meta data within each document
Review current SharePoint architecture and make recommendations on how to improve
Improve and make current SharePoint architecture more user friendly
More administrative function but still need to be able to make recommendations with architecture
Homepage design, make each team site unique
Will not do development functions
Take document and pull out key words for meta data and categorize the information

SharePoint and Pharma experience, must qualify documentation
