Sharepoint and Exchange Administrator

The main areas of focus for the role include high levels of server reliability and performance, storage management and data protection, IT system security and disaster recovery.

- Develop, implement and oversee secure and reliable procedures for Exchange and SharePoint account creation and removal.
- Manage user access to data stored in the Exchange and SharePoint systems.
- Perform hardware and software maintenance tasks on the Exchange, SharePoint and related systems (eg, Email archiving system) in line with vendor recommendations.
- Monitor the performance and capacity of the administered systems and respond proactively to any potential problems identified.
- Plan for and perform software updates (patching) and upgrades on administered systems in consultation with key stakeholders.

Skills and experience needed:

- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience in designing, implementing and managing enterprise class server and storage systems.
- A high level of technical knowledge of and extensive experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2000/2003) operating system.
- A high level of technical knowledge of and extensive experience with Microsoft Exchange (2003/2007) operating system.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with data storage systems such as tape libraries and Storage Area Networks (SANs).
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with enterprise-class server and storage hardware, and associated management tools.
