Settop Box Engineer

Design, develop, implement, and maintain software to support the production and deployment of Advanced Digital Set-tops running on Embedded Real Time Operating Systems

- Perform analysis of design alternatives in areas of function, performance, and implementation
- Develop and maintain documentation related to all aspects of software development cycle
- Use Structured and Object-Oriented design methodologies to document and communicate design activities

Must be local or willing to relocate.

SKILLS:

REQUIREMENTS

- BSEE/BSCS or Equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in Embedded Software Development
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communications Skills
- C/C++ Development experience on Linux (including C++ Standard Libraries, BOOST)
- Object Oriented Programming with knowledge on design patterns (Working experience with Structured and Object Oriented Design Methodologies
- General Linux administration & Linux debugging
- Working experience in Set-top development environment and or mobile client device
- Working experience in agile development practices including testing

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Version control with SVN
- Linux block device stack, Block device hardware
- Transcoder, MPEG2/MPEG4
- Settop box experience or equivalent
