THE COMPANY: Our client is a service provider providing support for people with learning disabilities and other support needs in Aberdeen.  The services support people to live in their own home within the community in a small group.

THE ROLE:  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to lead and manage a team in providing agreed levels of support to people who use our services in order to achieve their individual goals and lead full and productive lives as valued members of their community.

Responsibilities:

&bull Responsible for the overall management of the support services operated
&bull Responsible for compliance with the legislation and regulation under which the service operates
&bull Ensure agreed appropriate levels of support are provided to individuals, organising staff rotas to make the best use of resources
&bull Responsible for the service&rsquos budgetary control
&bull Be involved in the assessment of service users and potential service users
&bull Liaise with families, social workers and other professionals on behalf of service users
&bull Ensure that appropriate medication procedures are in place
&bull Responsible for the recruitment and selection of staff
&bull Prepare and participate in the induction and on-the-job training of new staff
&bull Ensure appropriate financial records are maintained including management of petty cash
&bull Prepare monthly financial information in line with organisational requirements
&bull Responsible for implementing and monitoring quality assurance and quality control systems

THE CANDIDATE:  Key skills and experience:-

Essential: 
&bull To be registerable with the SSSC as a Resource Manager
&bull S/NVQ Level 4 (in both management and care), or equivalent, or be working     towards achieving the qualifications
&bull Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience within a relevant care setting
&bull A track record of working within services for people with learning disabilities
&bull The ability to lead and motivate a team and provide a clear sense of direction to staff and service users
&bull Effective financial and budget management
&bull Person Centred Planning
&bull Holds full driving licence

Desirable:
&bull Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with challenging Behaviour and complex needs
