We have an exciting opportunity for Service Improvement Manager to join a London Borough Council on an initial 3 month contract.

The Service Improvement Manager will lead on service improvement for the north neighbourhood service and work with the council's client team to embed the housing management service standards, establish a strong performance management culture and support service improvements and excellence.

The purpose of the role is to develop and deliver the council's strategy to tackle under-occupation and tenancy fraud.

Key responsibilities will include:

-To develop and deliver the council's strategy to tackle under-occupation and tenancy fraud
-Assisting the head of neighbourhood services in developing a strong performance management culture to support the council's aspiration for high quality customer facing services
-Assisting the head of neighbourhood services with the budget management process and oversee ordering and invoice processing to achieve value for money
-Critically assess and challenge current service delivery methods and implement any changes to improve performance, processes and reduce costs
-Lead on the councils approach to under occupancy moves working across the borough to manage the under occupancy team to identify and target under occupiers in council housing, moving them into suitable accommodation, reducing financial pressures and freeing up homes for overcrowded families
-Lead on housing's anti-fraud initiative by developing sound strategies, procedures and controls in the prevention, detection, investigation and deterrence of tenancy fraud

To be successful in this position, you will previous experience working within the housing department of a local authority and have proven experience of improving processes and operations
