Service Engineer: Title Onboarding

SERVICE ENGINEER: TITLE ONBOARDING REDMOND, WA 12 MONTH CONTRACT

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Working with game development teams to design online infrastructures
- Documenting technical designs
- Contributing to department standards (technical and process)
- Participate in technical reviews for your designs and others on the team
- Handle incident and problem escalations from support

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years experience (or less experience with strong demonstrated knowledge and skills) of working with Microsoft stack applications (ASP.NET, WCF, SQL, IIS, etc.)
- Systems Design - Understanding of designing applications for high availability, resiliency, and performance
- Solution Analysis and Design
- Ability to understand a business problem and turn them into requirements
- Ability to compare technical solutions against business/technical requirements
- Quick to learn - Able to quickly pick up new technologies and concepts via self-guided learning
- Self-Starter Looks for opportunities, rather than looking for work to be assigned
- SQL 2008 R2, SQL 2012
- High-level design (HA and DR)
- Administration - Security, maintenance
- Performance optimization - query optimization, indexing, etc.
- Problem and Performance Analysis - Strong understanding of how to analyze issues from detection to resolution
- Monitoring - Understanding of designing monitoring applications for high availability and quick issue detection
- Understanding of enterprise class hardware
- RAID - Disk configurations
- Out of band management
- Understanding of Windows Azure (or conceptual knowledge of cloud strategies)
- Understanding of Azure Services and how to use (EG - Service Bus, DocumentDB, Azure Database, etc.)
- Cloud Services
- Deployment
- Azure Fabric Lifecycle
- Troubleshooting
- Windows Azure Diagnostics
- Azure Storage Services (Blob, Table, SQL Database, etc.)
- Azure Connectivity and Networking (Virtual Network - S2S, P2S, Direct Connect)
- Demonstrated ability in Scripting in C#, PowerShell, VBS (or another language) and the ability to reuse/modify existing scripts
- Experience in an automating tool (Orchestrator, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
- ITIL - Working understanding
