SERVICE ENGINEER/EQUIPMENT PROJECT ENGINEER

Our client has a requirement for a permanent SERVICE ENGINEER/EQUIPMENT PROJECT ENGINEER to work in the location of ESSEX. Please note you may also be required to hold a security clearance for this role.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client currently has an opportunity for an experienced Service Engineer with an electrical/electronic background to work as part of busy production equipment project team. In this varied and challenging position you will focus on the design and build of new production equipment and improving Legacy equipment.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Ability to understand & realise customer needs to produce detailed technical specifications and designs for manufacture in-house or externally.
- Able to successfully plan and manage own work, and produce detailed costings, project plans and progress reports.
- Provide technical advice to other areas of the business, including manufacturing, facilities and business units.
- Work effectively with all areas of the business, and also outside suppliers.
- Ability to maintain, fault find to component level, repair and install production equipment such as vacuum systems, pump stations, furnaces, ECH machines and HV test gears.
- External travel may be required to external suppliers to maintain progress and to complete commissioning activities.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Knowledge of High Voltage AC and DC circuits
- Good knowledge of PLC programming and integration - Mainly Mitsubishi FX series.
- Ability to produce design schematics using AutoCAD electrical.
- Experience in LabVIEW application development to produce automated test equipment.
- Working knowledge of SAP/Maximo
- An attention to detail and a quality mindset.
- Flexible approach to work and a willingness to get hands dirty when required.
- A good level of literacy and numeracy.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
- Formal Apprenticeship
- HNC in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical or higher
- City & Guilds th Edition
