Microsoft Server HELPDESK ANALYST/FIRST LINE ANALYST, Cloud Support Analyst -Service Desk required by our government, public sector client based in Milton Keynes, Bucks, South East commutable from East Midlands, Northamptonshire.

Due to the urgency of the role, SC CLEARED or DV CLEARED, Developed Vetting clearance is mandatory

IDEAL VACANCY FOR EX-FORCES PERSONNEL

Based in Milton Keynes, the successful candidate will provide 1st contact technical support and troubleshooting to End-Users and system support staff who have contacted the Service Desk via phone or email

Main Duties:

Answer and log IT service requests received via phone, web-logged calls or email.

Essential

Technical Background:

Experience of backup strategies and messaging services,

Experience of below in an enterprise environment.

MS Windows 2008/3/0 Server, MS Exchange 2003 MS Vista, Windows 7,8

Service Delivery

Good problem solving and analytical skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills and an excellent team player. Well organised and able to work under pressure to achieve to tight deadlines.

Desirable

Operating Infrastructure:

MCP/MCSE accreditation. Backup software (NetVault, Backup exec) Knowledge SM9 and OVSD helpdesk management software Foundation certificate in ITIL Service Management

Provide 1st contact technical problem analysis and resolution of client issues with the aid of available Service Desk tools (eg Remote Support, FAQs,

Troubleshooting Guides, and Knowledge base articles). Log actions taken and resolution.

Where 1st contact resolution is not possible escalate calls to the appropriate resolving group as required.

Working Hours:

This position will be expected to work an extended day shift pattern during the working week. The shift pattern is presently 07:30-15:30, and 09:00-17:30, all with a 30 minute lunch break. The shift cycle will be continuously monitored to ensure that it provides the best service to the customer. The job holder should therefore be flexible enough to accept occasional changes.

Qualifications/Experience Required
Proven technical competence, knowledge of MS server and Workstation operating systems. Ability to cope with pressures of peak workloads, short deadlines and shift working
