The Rural Payments Agency has a unique role within the UK. We pay farmers, traders and land owners over £2 billion each year to support a thriving farming and food sector. We also manage over 40 schemes to help ensure our communities are healthy. From carrying out thousands of inspections and checks to managing milk quotas and cattle tracing, our work is keeping the rural economy strong.

Behind the scenes here, our in-house IT experts keep things running smoothly - ensuring everyday essential technology is in place and effective. This role will put you at the forefront of our work. You'll support the RPA's Service Desk, carrying out incident management by logging calls, diagnosing and prioritising casework and assigning the right support area for each case.

You'll need to take ownership of all calls logged and recognise incidents that are related to current on-going cases. You'll also monitor and progress open calls, implement first line fixes for hardware and software problems, including releasing blocked emails and unlocking user accounts, and publish useful information on our intranet system.

To be successful, you'll need great organisational skills and a flair for communication. Excellent time-management and the ability to work well under pressure will be essential too.
