STARTING SALARY from: £22,579 per annum

FIXED TERM FOR 18 MONTHS WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION OR PERMANENCY

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Parliamentary ICT Service Desk team providing customer service excellence to members and staff in the House of Commons and House of Lords. The team supports 6,000 Parliamentary network and telecoms users, providing first-line telephone support on software and hardware matters. Ideally applicants will have strong technical knowledge of ICT software and hardware, with proven experience within an IT service support environment.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS RELEVANT TO THE JOB

- A minimum of one year experience in an ICT service desk or desk-side support environment.
- A strong technical knowledge of ICT hardware and software including Microsoft Office 2007 or higher, in particular;
- Windows Vista, Windows 7, Active Directory Services, Local Area Networks, Internet, Broadband, Smart phones and PC Hardware.

SKILLS

- Excellent customer service skills, including a professional and helpful telephone manner for a demanding user group.
- Ability to contribute to and work well within a team.
- The ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent organisation and organisational skills: able to prioritise, meet deadlines and cope with fluctuations in workload.
- Experience of supporting Microsoft Office applications to at least 2007 level and experience of using MS Outlook in an Exchange environment.
