ROLE PROFILE

Manage the service deployment for Vodafone Global Application (GA) services with a strong focus on the technical coordination of the setup and implementation of all needed systems and applications from test to production over the different project phases. The activities for the transitioning of a service it's launch include the set-up, integration, configuration, trouble management and maintenance of the system together with the appropriate product line and/or vendor.

The first focus of the role is on technology and coordinating activities on the different technical layers like connectivity, hardware, OS/DB and applications which are provided by different internal or external parties. Good understanding of these layers is required to recognise set-up dependencies, support troubleshooting and arbitrate between providers for issue handling. Depending on the nature of the service the role also covers demand assessment activities for feasibility studies and consolidated cost estimations.

Overall the role takes care that all customer needs are taken into account according to their priority and that the agreed scope is delivered on time.

RESPOSIBILITIES

Responsible for the technical implementation of technical solutions/architecture throughout a new Service or Release implementation and non standard Service requests according to agreed project plan.
Coordination of technical implementation of technical solution (Test & Production), including adaptations of local components (eg OpCo FWs and routing)
Analysis of technical requests together with all involved Operations Parties
Maintain communication Matrix for Project
Support vendors for technical implementation
Regular alignment with Product Lines (integration & support teams) & Operational Design
Report technical integration status to relevant parties
Ensure, that availability, capacity and continuity plans per service are in place
Responsible that the release/technical solution from Development/vendor is requested and analyzed
Ensures the required infrastructure from Infrastructure teams is delivered in time
Accountable that technical standards including Security are applied before Go Live of Service
Ensures technical readiness for required solution in time for the different phases as agreed beforehand with the project Handover to running business

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS

Multi Layer architecture,
Network (basis knowledge of TCP/IP, FTP, Gateway, HTTP, HTTPS, LAN, LDAP, ssh, SSL, VPN)
Firewall and Load balancing
DNS,Mail
Service enablement
Knowledge on Network storage NAS,SAN..
Hardware Virtualisation
WebService knowledge based on Apache WebServer and BeaWebLogic Applications Server
Database: basic knowhow (relational Database system, Oracle, RAC)
Basic knowledge in Citrix
Operating system: Linux Red Hat, Unix, Windows
Knowledge of mobile telecommunications and their data services

DESIRED INDUSTRY/FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE:
