SERVER ANALYST CONTRACTOR
OUR CLIENT (A LARGE CANADIAN COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY) HAS AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A WIRELESS SERVER ANALYST.
Location: Calgary, AB
Duration: 6months +
Accountabilities:
Monitor, repair, implement and maintain Client's Unix/Linux server infrastructure and associated applications
Work directly with Engineering departments to develop and operationalize new applications
Analyze and interpret threat situations and implement solutions to mitigate risk to services
Create and maintain procedures and technical documentation
Work with a team to complete daily tasks
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Post secondary education in a computer related discipline, complemented by 5 years support experience in a server environment
Redhat, or Sun Solaris certification or equivalent
VM experience an asset
Experience in a multi-service, multi-vendor environment
In depth knowledge of Internet protocols and Internet related services including email, DNS, DHCP, SNMP
Working knowledge of Networking protocols, CCNA an asset
Hands on experience with various monitoring platforms (HP Openview, OpenNMS, etc.)
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Position is based in the 24/7/365 Engineering Operations department; previous experience working rotational shift work, including overnight shifts an asset.
