SEO Expert (Search Engine Optimisation) - Web Development

SEO Consultant - Web - 3 months + - Lyon OR Paris (France)

On behalf of our client, a world leader in their industry sector with over 100.000 employees in 200 countries, we are looking for an experienced SEO consultant to be either based in their Paris or Lyon offices, and work on search engine optimisation (SEO) for them on a global level.

You will be responsible for the following:

* Bring a strong SEO expertise and be the default point of contact for any SEO related question.
* Become knowledgeable about our client's search marketing objectives, business, products, brand attributes, and competitive position.
* Conduct a full SEO website audit and document baselines and benchmarks.
* Complete an online competitive analysis. Reverse-engineer competitors' websites.
* Provide SEO detailed recommendations (priorities, budget and goals) as part of Global Search strategy.
* Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) criteria for performance evaluation.
* Monitor trafic curves and crawl metrics, perform regular ranking benchmarks and specify enhancement requests to improve websites' efficiency.
* Improve User Experience on website: increase Click Through Rates (CTR) in search engine results listings, minimize page abandonment, increase page views. Guarantee a Search Engine friendly website for both humans and search engines.
* Diagnose technical SEO issues and resolve. Demonstrate expert troubleshooter capabilities.
* Establish naming conventions and taxonomies for URLs, sub-directories, sub domains, files, graphical images, multi-media.
* Mentor the technical team on SEO fundamentals and write accurate training material.
* Populate SEO requirements and validate SEO compliance of all customer experience projects.
* Use SEO Tools effectively (proprietary and third-party).
* Keep constantly updated of industry trends, SEO best practices and major engine's algorithm changes. Evaluate impacts on our client's websites.

Tools and competences desired (it is not expected that all of these will be mastered).

* Expert in web development, web design, HTML coding, CSS, responsive design
* Expert in HTTP protocol, network architecture, crawlers technology
* Expert in log analysis, BASH/PERL coding, regular expressions
* Expert in semantic algorithms, prismatic terms, facets, Bayesian filtering
* Data mining, Hadoop, NoSQL
* Web Servers: Apache, Tomcat, IIS, nginx, GWS
* Agent Web Ranking
* AT Internet Digital Workspace
* Google analytics
* Google Webmaster Tool
* Yandex Webmaster Tool

Please note that we are looking for an individual who understands both the technical and strategic sides of SEO. A good knowledge of Web Development is expected, as well as a high level of communication in English, since you will be dealing with people up to the Senior Vice President level.

A knowledge of French would be an advantage, but is not mandatory.
This is a 3 months contract, that can be renewed. Expected start date is January 12th, although it could be a little earlier, or a little later, but no later than January 26th.
