Senior Wintel Specialist

Looking for an experienced Senior Wintel Specialist with a current NV1 level security clearance or higher for a contract opportunity to 1 April 2015.

Support delivery of a number of ACBPS Telecommunications Projects through direct involvement and BAU relief of primary technical resources.

The WINTEL SPECIALIST will work within a multi-skilled team to support the ACBPS Wintel environments.

The Wintel team provides 2nd and 3rd Level Administration and Support including both routine system administration availability of systems, design, and implementation in an enterprise environment.

Officers are required to work out of hours and to provide 24 hour on-call support from time to time.

The nature of the work to be performed

- Supervision of junior staff including the allocation of team tasks and responsibilities;
- Undertaking advanced server, troubleshooting and rectification activities in a Windows Server environment.
- Providing after hours support when required;
- Undertaking project design, configuration, and implementation activities;
- Undertaking server maintenance, installation and management including liaison with other technical teams as necessary.
- Managing external service providers, and maintenance vendors as required.;
- Providing advice and assistance to the IT Division Service Desk
- Providing expertise with respect to operational and procedural documentation.
- Monitoring and reporting on server infrastructure performance and capacity management;
- Contributing to server services change control, incident and problem management activities (ITIL based);
- Mentoring of junior staff.
- As part of your daily activities you are responsible for creating complete and accurate records in accordance with the Recordkeeping Practice Statement and Instruction and Guidelines.
